    Hi guys,

With no more codeshare flights between UA and US, is there any hope that UA will invest a little bit more on flights to/from CLT? I was comparing UA with DL, AA and US.. UA is not just UA express at CLT (-1000 points) but almost always the most expansive option!

A great question, and one which I'm sure @Gtitan will soon be along to comment on. Personally, I'm thinking of starting a pool on how long it will be until UA starts SFO-CLT on its own metal.

It's a question that I think a lot of us are waiting to hear the answer to. With the loss of US, UA is pretty weak to a number of destinations in the SE and "Sunbelt." It remains to be seen if they want to fight for that traffic or just ignore it and focus on other things.

It is far weaker within the region than to/from the region. There aren't all that many destinations completely lost but getting between them becomes more or less untenable.

The tricky part about CLT-SFO is the large O&D user of that route is Wells Fargo (after Wells and Wachovia merged). I would imagine Wells has a pretty strong tie to US Airways / new American, so UA would be at a disadvantage. Possibly a UA A319 for those that are loyal to UA/Star, but the new American will be capturing the premium traffic while running a A321 with lower CASM.

I put UA having a nonstop from the West Coast to CLT at somewhere between slim and none. :(

I tend to agree; I think we'll see an upgauge of equipment (E175 perhaps instead of all RJ145 all the time) and the expectation of everyone heading west to route through IAH.

I would've tended to agree except seeing that SFO-RDU appears to be surviving and thriving makes me think they'll give SFO-CLT a shot.

On an A319 with slimline seats, too. I'd rather route through IAH, personally.

Yea, the new slimline seats actually bias me towards booking E145s (no sarcasm - the seats suck).

In large part wasn't that a response to DL doing transcons?

    I have no idea.
I suspect that played a factor, but RDU and the Bay Area certainly have substantial business ties.
