US Embassy in London to relocate:
I wonder if the move is related to the millions owed by the embassy to the city. London charges all cars for entering the central zone, and the US embassy has been refusing to pay for its cars.
Haven't most embassies been refusing to pay? And frankly, I don't blame them.
hopefully at not too much of a cost to taxpayers
My understanding is it is mostly because of a lack of space and security concerns. While the current location is in central, there's no room to expand and a lot of vehicle traffic nearby, which could facilitate an attack of some sort I guess.
