Flew home yesterday from MUC to PHL on a US Air award flight ticket. We had to go through security once in the main part of the terminal before passport control and then had to go through it again to get to our gate. Any ideas why we had to do this twice. Luckily we were early and had plenty of time but this could have caused a great hiccup in our travels.

US bound flights usually have a secondary security screening for our unique increased security standards.

I had to go through a security check twice in MUC when travelling on LH and similarly in FRA when flying Czech Air in both instances my destination was Prague ( so its by no means unique for US bound traffic.:)
