Aaron Nieman is frustrated, after his pregnant wife's insulin and ice packs were confiscated by TSA screeners at Denver International Airport on Thursday afternoon.

The couple has traveled around the world with her supplies and have never encountered any troubles before.

"It made me feel upset and made me feel somewhat helpless," he said.

His wife is traveling alone to a baby shower in Phoenix.

She asked us not to use her name for fear of security and retaliation for speaking out.

"He's like well, you're a risk. It's like excuse me. And he's like. This is a risk, for I can't tell you why again. But this is at risk for explosives,” she told 7NEWS.

This is crazy, the insulin was most likely in a labeled vial (like the other insulin bottle). Any half-witted individual would have seen it was medication, but I forget, lot of no-wit TSAers out there!

remember, a TSA official is ultimately someone who McDonalds or Taco Bell weeded out during the interview process.

<grrrrrrrr> Just once, I'd really like to see an "I'm sorry" statement from the TSA. I know "it hurts real bad" to say it but c'mon TSA, it's not like I'm asking you to produce a flying pig....:mad:

From the TSA's template statement quoted in the article: "We are sensitive to the concerns of passengers who were not satisfied with their screening experience..."

You mean you're not satisfied with the fact that they're sensitive? That's quite insensitive of you. ;)

The same article the OP linked has been updated to add this....

It is starting to sound like the woman might have disposed of the insulin when the TSA had a problem with the ice.

Which is still wrong as imho, the ice packs are needed to to keep the insulin cold and where the insulin is a medical necessity, so are the ice packs. Still

But it also seems to show (once again) that what the press and/or passengers report isn't necessarily accurate.
