|| TSA calls bomb specialist on wheelchair-bound 12-year-old girl || Of course, people with "common sense" call the action by the TSA...."madness" and right they are!
I don't want to click "like" because I don't want it to say "Anabolism likes this" (seems perverse -- there needs to be a button for "hate what's being reported but like that you posting it") but thanks for posting it.
Elected representatives who vote based on reason rather than appearances, and an electorate who know who their representatives are and how they voted. Or, maybe, triple the size of the House, so each district is small enough that voters know their representative.
The people who spawned the TSA, the ones that gave it all the powers that it works with, and the top dogs within the agency who set up the guidelines, are the ones we should be getting mad at and holding accountable. The foot soldiers just follow the orders and execute the policy within the guidelines provided to them. What am I missing here?
The residue hit should have triggered a second screening, and there should be a private option for that screening. I've had it happen once (I'm not in a wheelchair) and found myself in no position to argue. A second search including a thorough search of my carryon and I was through. 15 minutes, tops. Sure, this is different in terms of her being in a wheelchair... but it's absolutely reprehensible that they wouldn't let mom near. As a parent, you could go ahead and call the police at that point - at least I know they'll give me more professional treatment than this girl received. Abolish the TSA.
Has anyone in the forum gone beyond expressing his/her outrage here and written a letter (not email) to their congressman? Would that not be the proper thing to do to get TSA disbanded? Or should we leave it to Randy to forward our complaints? Just sayin'.
