TSA and Chainsaws

    While tweezers and mothers milk are considered hazardous items and are barred from passing through the TSA security checkpoints, a chainsaw is legit.

    Reminds me of my last time through LAX. I actually went to check if the TSA specifically rules out chainsaws. And yes, they do, but you can check them. ;)

    I remember when I was a kid years ago (read as 30), back in the days of flying the old Czech Airlines and their IL62's JFK to prague, My parents actually were allowed to carry on a chainsaw packed in their carry on. It was a gift for my grandfather and as long as there was no fuel in it, it was welcomed aboard. Ah, the good ol' days!!

    It was safer that way vs. checked in the luggage bay since it was subject to the communist version of the TSA back in the iron curtain days and sometimes things just didnt make it through with checked bags.
