I recently stayed at the Tremont Hotel (paid rate, Hot Escapes) to take advantage of a targeted promotion: 1 stay gets you a free night. I called a few days afterwards after I noticed that it showed up as "redeem" and that I got no points/no stay credit.

I called up SPG and they told me that this is a nonparticipating property (although I see no evidence of it on the web). They said that if I had called to put in the reservation they would have told me that.

I've been seeing conflicting information on whether the hotel participates in SPG (for example, I know that in 2011 it did, but I haven't seen much either way since). Is it a participating hotel, and is this is a case of HUACA (hang up and call again)?

On a side note, is there a comprehensive listing of properties that participate in SPG? Thanks!

    http://www.tremontchicago.com/

At the very bottom; it says its a Starwood Hotel. maybe it is not a participating property in the promo you were trying to do.

That's good to know - it's worth noting that since I received no points at all, I have to assume that the discussion is about whether it participates (so that I would get some points).

The promo language says that ANY hotel that participates in SPG counts, so if I get any points I should get the free night too.

    Hi dzulgs25,

The Tremont Chicago Hotel at Magnificent Mile does participate in the SPG program and it is a category 3 hotel.

We would like to help further look into this. Could you please provide your account information and more detail about the promotion you referenced to us via private message here or by email?
