    Many people may not realize it, but the US State Department does issue travel warnings and alerts for different regions and countries of the world from time to time. I have had several instances where myself or friends were about to take a trip when the destination country popped up on that list. The question that then comes up is – what to do? Travel Warnings and Alerts Key Link – US State Department Travel Warnings and Alerts When a country is added to this list or has its status on the list modified, most travelers may not know about it unless they have signed up to receive updates. These updates will be e-mailed when the status change occurs and informs the traveler about what disturbances/dangers are present in the country. These warnings are not binding in the sense that they do not prohibit you from entering the named country.
