Sometimes trail confronts us with experiences that are difficult to describe in the words we know. But Lovely Planet came up with 30 words to describe such experiences -- the situations we face at the airport, the kinds of fellow travelers we encounter, our own travel habits and other aspects of travel. We picked out our favorite 10 from the list, so you'll never be at a loss to describe your travel experiences, from the common to the strange and unexpected. Here they are, as Lonely Planet described them:

    1) automobilogic n.
The state of mind unique to road trips that convinces travelers that gummi bears and fried onion rings count as a daily serving of fruits and vegetables. Studies indicate that this may lead to automobesity.

    2) below see level prep.
When you're seated directly below the drop-down movie screen on an airplane and the other screens are all too far away to view comfortably.

    3) crankophone n.
Someone who tries to make themselves understood in a foreign country simply by speaking louder in their own tongue.

Encoachment - taking up more space than your allotted one seat allows and squishing into your neighbors space.
