    Hello there,

I transit YYZ quite often, but it's usually on AC going US-CA-CA so I know the drill. In February, I'll be flying YHZ-YYZ-HKG (AC to CX) while my better half will be flying EWR-YYZ-HKG (CO to CX). Do we follow signs to international connections upon arrival or do we have to enter into Canada and then hop on the train to Terminal 3?

There are no airside connections linking T3 & T1 regardless of any connection nature unfortunately. Your "better half" will have to go through the full Canadian Immigration & Customs procedure before exiting T1. Both of you will then take the LINK train to T3 where you will clear CATSA prior to going to your gate. The indoor landside arrival halls at T1 are together in the same level with just different exit paths for domestic & international arrivals, thus you can meet inside before taking the train.
