Transferring through (AUH) Abu Dhabi, can I bring booze?

I have an Etihad flight from BKK-AUH-DUB. I have never traveled through AUH before and was wondering if I need to take any special precautions in terms of what I put in my checked baggage. Specifically, I was planning on bringing a liter of booze and some prescription meds. Will either of these be a problem?

Traveling one from drinking city to another, via a dry city? ;)

I'd be reluctant to check prescription medicine in checked bags. (Would you be OK if the bag was lost or delayed?)

As to booze into a checked transit bag at AUH, I'm sure you'll be fine. Make sure it is packed carefully. I've been at the baggage belt when flights inbound from MBJ are arriving...invariably a few valises have rum dripping out of them!

Sorry, I'm not asking if I can get away with it, but whether or not it's legal. I can't find anything on the AUH site.
