Doing my spring cleanup, trying to see if it's possible to get my Ink Bold points over to freedom card. So far I see that it's only possible the other way around.

Nope, I assure you it's possible. If you have two signin accounts (one business, one personal) then you'll have to do it as though you're transferring the points to "someone else." I believe all you need is your card number and last name, though, and the transfer is almost instant.

Just tried to transfer from Ink to Freedom, it says the credit card number provided is wrong. So appears that's not an option after all.

    Please enlighten me...
What's the point in transferring the points to the freedom card?
    The other way I understand.

Maybe you want them in Freedom if you're about to cancel Ink?

That's odd, because we just closed my wife's IB, so I know I JUST did that less than two weeks ago.
In any case, you can do it over the phone with a rep, too.

I suspect user error, but it worked on the third attempt. Thanks!

With INK I have 50,000 bonus points per card, Freedom is 1500 per their quarter selection...

Am I missing something..My spend is on properties.

I'm missing what it is that you're missing. ;-)
The conversation was about how to find the feature that lets you transfer UR points from one card's "bucket" (my term) to another.

For those who might not follow exactly what's going on here, it looks like you can transfer UR points from Ink Bold (or CSP I assume) to a Freedom account. Now of course points in a Freedom account can't be used in the ways you might expect, since you can't transfer them to airline or hotel points directly, but rather you can only use them as a Freedom account holder can. Presumably in this case the user just wants a holding place to store the UR points while he cancels the Ink and from which he can then restore the points to a CSP or whatever later. Only the Ink Bold/Cash/Plus and Sapphire cards have the ability to transfer their points directly to airline/hotel points.

    Small correction:
    Ink Cash and Sapphire cannot.
Ink Bold/Plus and Sapphire Preferred can.

Perhaps the Freedom isn't for you.

The Freedom is useful to me because of the quarterly 5X bonus categories. These aren't always useful. But often they are. For example in Q1 and Q3 this year you can earn 5X at "Gas Stations". And most 7-Elevens are categorized as gas stations. And so you can by VGCs there at 5X, three of them per quarter, to earn 7,500 UR points. And in Q4 Amazon and Department stores usually means I can max the category out as well. This is on top of any bonused spend you might already get from an Ink. Ink for example only offers 2X at Gas Stations. Of course there are other cards that do better, but for me the extra points are useful.

And hey its a NAF card that you can keep forever to lengthen your credit history. And it offers 10,000 points. Not a big payoff but not zero.

    Great, and thank you.

I can walk in Lowe's and buy Amazon, BP, SHELL, Macy's , and many other cards, put them on my LAR, pay it off with the HIGC and get 5 X everyday of the week,

Yes I,also have the Sapphire Card.

Did cancel the United Card today, saved $95.00

5% and 5X points are not the same,

Like everyone, I am always looking for a little edge...

Thanks again both of you...appreciate it.

I haven't tried it yet but I did recently close my CSP and the rep offered to transfer my remaining points into Freedom

Yep, they are pretty good about reminding you to transfer your points before you close.

I tried to go the other way today (from my gf's Freedom to her Ink Plus account) and got the "invalid number" message. She called and the rep couldn't do it either (he posited that it wasn't possible to transfer from a consumer to a business account, although he didn't claim to know that for a fact).
He proceeded to transfer the points from her Freedom to my Sapphire Preferred without incident.

Unless that's a new rule they've implemented in the last few weeks (and I highly doubt it) the rep was flat-out wrong. The entire point of being able to transfer from card to card is to ... well, ... be able to transfer from card to card.
