I'm looking to rent a mini-van with Enterprise next April. I will be traveling to NYC and back. According to Enterprise, I have unlimited mileage, as long as I'm in Canada. How would Enterprise know if in fact I crossed the border? Is there a GPS/Tracker embedded in the car? Otherwise, I'm looking at .20/km over and above an allowance of 200km per day. Any thoughts?

Renting a car and not telling them that you plan to cross the border is a bad idea.

No, but you have to cross a border and show a passport and the folks at the border are likely to record the tag number, date and time etc . That's why we always stop at least once between Windsor and the Falls.

Also, you should check to see if you have proper insurance coverage.
