Tower Bridge glass walkway 'smashed' by night-time visitor dropping bottle of beer
That is just dumb. If a dropped bottle can cause such damage it should not be open to the public! Of course the real cause was the stilettos!
They should have consulted with the Havasupai Tribe here in Arizona. They put in the first of these things with the Grand Canyon Skywalk. To walk on the glass, you take off your shoes and put paper booties (like they have at TSA Checkpoints) to walk out. No bottles, No Cans, No Purses, No Cameras. Just go out and enjoy the view.
Other countries have developed a bullet-proof glass that is strong enough to stand up to dropped beer bottles and stiletto heels. Maybe they could import some of that.
No cameras means no pics, no pics means didn't happen.
Indeed, bulllet-proof glass should withstand a dropped bottle or stiletto heels.
Correct, but perhaps the designers didn't take into account the alcohol percentage content of the dropped beer, nor did they take the time in their complex calculations to consider the dangers of then having a lady Sumo wrestler in stiletto heels step on the cracked glass panel after the dropped beer has been applied.
Yeah, so many things to think about when opening up such an attraction to the general public. Cheers.
Pay no attention to the @blackjack-21 behind the curtain - only he would think of a female sumo wrestler in stilettos! Maybe his last date?
Everything is possible.
Just the thought is crushing me. Don't let her know I'm on the same plane....I'll stay behind the curtain in "L"avatory Class while she's up front for weight and balance of the aircraft to keep the nosegear on the ground when parked.
