For any passengers transiting EWR or IAH tonight or tomorrow (11/22-23), be advised a waiver has been issued due to the poor weather.

However, all it amounts to is a slightly looser, free SDC policy for all passengers affected. Change fee will be waived, but the same fare basis must be available on the new flight, otherwise an add/collect is imposed. Considering the high loads expected over the next few days, discount fare classes are likely scarce, so this is truly a weather waiver with no teeth.

    Beware!

Update: my experience ultimately turned favorable... the rule of 3 still applies!

I searched and had no joy: what is the rule of 3?

Keep calling until you get the answer you like; often it takes 3 calls to get what you want.

Proper homage to the COurageous Leader will minimize the number of calls needed.
