While i'm always looking for that upgrade to the club level floor, there is a disadvantage to it. It's usually a high level floor and we all know heat rises. Last night I spent some time trying to get the right level of blankets over me so I wouldn't be too hot or too cold. It seems to be a chore separating the sheets from the blankets, duvets, etc., and trying not to end up with only a sheet over me. Am I the only one who doesn't like all those "layers"?

I like all those layers...and I've been known to set the temp to 60F.

The death of the top sheet was quick and quiet. I called room service as I couldn't unravel the bedding and was told that they don't put a top sheet on any more and they could if I wanted. Of course I then requested one and it was provided for the rest of my stay. Sometimes with air con adjusted I just want a sheet over me not a quilt or blanket. This was a 5 star in Australia.

I like to make the room as cold as possible and keep all the blankets on. Too many blankets? Never[IMG]

Just stop the sheet tucking so I don't have to fight for 45 minutes kicking out the corners.

I say this in good humor but when I saw this thread I said to myself "Are you kidding me?!" Haha what are we going to talk about next - not liking the door handles of our hotel rooms?

Of course. After all, this is Flye....oh wait, never mind. [IMG]

But now that yoo mentioned it, I don't like door handles that make it difficult for me to hang a "Do Not Disturb" sign. I always wonder what compensation I'm due when I have to fumble with it.

One of the first things I do as I go into a room is remove any decorative covers on the bed, fold it and tuck in on the chair I'm least likely to use - who knows how often they are washed!?!

2 weeks ago I was staying at the Ramada in Bahrain - everytime I touched the door handle the DND sign would fall off

Opposite problem - can't have too many, since I get cold easily. I may not use them all, but better than having just one and having to ask for more/if they have them. So I'm always happy to see more than one blanket.

One of my pet peeves is a duvet without a top sheet, especially if the room is warm. If we're staying in a hotel for several nights and there's no top sheet, we'll ask housekeeping for one. We've also gotten a plain old-fashioned blanket once or twice if the duvet is really heavy. We do use a medium-weight duvet at home but we have more control over the temperature.

I have got the top sheet (by request) and got the thinner blanket out before as well. I spend a lot of time adjusting air con and bedding till I am happy, of course I could just drink less and have less hangovers [IMG]

The duvet fits inside a purpose-made fitted sheet (like a giant pillow case) In fact, once or twice in desperation we've removed the duvet from that sheet, put it away, and slept under the sheet. [IMG]
