You may have noticed how the 'Reply' links on messages paste the selected post into the quick reply editor (editor at the bottom of the screen), and pull in a quoted version of the post to which you are replying so that you can easily edit/trim your quote.
Have you also noticed however, that you are not limited to quoting a single post? You can click the 'reply' link on multiple posts and each of them will deliver their content to the quick reply box.
Try it out—click on "Reply" on several posts and see what you get in the quick reply editor at the bottom of the screen.

Presently, multi-quotes is limited to posts on the same page, however, an update in the near future will allow multi-quotes across multiple pages.

Aha... ;) I got two separate quotes from Randy the first time but I'll get better at it.

Looking forward to the multi-page update. In the meantime, if you want to multi-quote from multiple pages, select the posts to be quoted on one page, click in your post window, select all, copy.

then go to the new page, click reply on the posts you want to quote, go to a blank space at the very top or very bottom of your reply window, click there, and paste. That will insert the quotes from the other page. (or insert them first, then add the ones on the new page).

Perhaps a second button could be added to allow for multi-quote. If that appeared, you would not have to track back up the page to your second quote as is currently (you click reply, you bounce down to the reply box)

    Great!

It would be also good to have a separate button to just quote the post to do multiple quotes.

Until that occurs, I'll just do each post separately.

And the same post can have its "Reply" clicked on multiple times for multiple copies. Then, deleting all but, say, a different sentence in each copy is a LOT easier than trying to cut/paste the quote tags and screwing it up.

Also, one can go back and click Reply even after having already typed some reply. For example, I will now click on:

Thanks for the info that multi-page quotes aren't working right now, but maybe soon -- this non-techie was sure I was missing a step (as often happens on this computer stuff), so, now reassured.

I will try Gargoyle's suggestion (post #5) for doing this - with it printed out, in front of me, reading each line carefully. Really - that is how I have to do it, but, I often do better at these things than I fear, so onward and upward.

Hey, I installed my wireless printer alone, and succeeded! ( it just took a little while, but no matter).

At the moment I right click - open in new tab for reply. Using this is not possible to multiquote. Simply replying takes you away from that location on the thread... which has it's inherent problems. Is there a middle ground?
