I'm still hanging on to my empower adapter. Has anyone flown on UA equipment recently that still requires this? All planes that I have flown on recently had directly plug-ins -- if they had anything at all. Is it safe to chuck it out?

There are zero UA planes which still use this system and it has been that way for a couple years now.

If you fly as a passenger on airplanes operated by Etihad Airways — including the Boeing 777-300 — you will most certainly find a use for that adapter, as the EmPower system is still used.
