My arse is not a fan. :(

Sat in one of the remodeled WN planes MKE-MCO on Sunday, and they're quite uncomfortable. As if I needed more reasons to abandon WN, I think this about does it. Who isn't using these yet? I know UA has started to use them on the 319's, but not sure about AA, DL or US.

Dl depends on equipment type. The worst are weber slimlines. I believe aa uses these also but supposedly theirs are less rock hard.

There are at least two different versions of the seats out there; among the differences are the padding involved.

I recently sat on a WN LAX - DEN - IAD on a b738/b737. The b738 had the new seats and I didn't really notice that much of a difference. Just space between seats, but then again I usually fly AA and get MCE so I had no real complaints.

I believe they are adding memory foam cushions to the 319s/320s

Yes, UA went with the "comfort package" or, as I like to call it, "Not the crappiest option."

I found them to be similar in comfort to that of the FL 717's I've flown in the past. As in, not very. The "comfort package" would be welcomed. MKE-MCO was about 2.5 hrs, and I shifted a number of times. I didn't even have a problem flying 2 hrs in a seat on the ZK EMB-120 from DEN-ISN, and I expected that seat to be all kinds of awful.

We just flew in from London to Oslo on SAS equipped with Recaro seats. At first, I noticed the thinner seat cushion and didn't look inviting. After seating on it for several minutes I didn't noticed the difference, maybe because the flight only took a little over two hours.

The first time I remember ever seeing the Recaro brand was aboard a tour bus in the U.K. I boarded back in the late 1990's.

This is still how I identify the Recaro brand.

You may have spent time in Recaro car seats. Or Shinkansen seats. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recaro

My son sits in a Recaro ProSport seat every time he gets in the car. They are pioneers in child safety and seat safety in general. I can't speak to the comfort of the airplane seat though, I suspect the airline bid list had comfort as a low priority.

Recardo Race seats are awesome. They're like baby seats but for adults.

I'm sorry, but memory foam pads? You mean my butt has to fit the indentations from the previous occupant?

    :p
