    The book and this gift are really unrelated. The book was a year-end gift for being Platinum in 2010. This is for having renewed at Platinum for 2011.

    I got the $25 or magazine... for being Gold. :D

    I took the $25. More money to help me requalify. Pity that I probably won't get it before my 3 week trip... where I am staying at several Starwood properties (Four Points Sukhumvit, Westin Macau, FRA Sheraton).

    It is definitely something better than nothing as well, and is a nice treat. I'm just so focused on my various 2011 statuses, it took me a little by surprise to hear something about what happened in 2010!

    I think its a very generous gift. Something substantial that isn't offered by other loyalty programs. I felt quite pleased with the book, now more? Its great for me. Thanks at least in part due to some hotel hopping due the resort promo, I'll be requalified in about a week!

    I guess it's a matter of perspective. I mean how much does the average person spend in a year to remain platinum?

    Yeah I'm from the "glass half empty" camp. :)

    Sounds great. As mentioned, anything given out free these days is better than nothing so I hope all elite members receiving this are happy with the gesture.

The emails have all been deployed for this round of re-qualifiers, so if you did not receive it and you are a Gold or Platinum member who re-qualified at your respective level in 2010 for 2011 by completing the necessary stay requirements, you need to do two things first:

    1) check your that account settings allow SPG to send you emails. (If your email permissions are not set, you may want to fix this.)
    2) check your spam folders, etc.

    If your email permissions are not set or the email cannot be found, then you can claim one of the items at the following urls:

    Any word on this? The original email said 4 to 6 weeks (14 May) but I have yet to receive anything. Is this promo going the same route as last year's $25?

    Has anyone else received the $25 and I am the odd man out?
