Any milepointers have one of these beasts...???
Related question... I know that T series Thinkpads are only sold directly by Lenovo (no third party resellers)... whats the deal with W series machines...?
Have a W510 and it makes a high pitched fan noise. So does my coworker's W500.The DVD drive sometimes pops out on its own, same thing happened with my T41. The power brick is large enough to raise eyebrows and is inconvenient for most smaller bags.
On the positive side, the battery lasts surprisingly long for the beast of this size and survives drops rather well.
If you are doing your own maintenance, no problem, but our IT department got the thing to be slower than should be allowed for anything with i& on it.
bump.... any mpers use a T series Thinkpad...??
Old T61p here ...
you happy with it....?
Nobody have any of the current model T series machines...?
ah.... you happy with it..? whats your config like...?
It is going on 5 years old I think now ... it is a brick - very heavy and big - but it has done the job for me - it is corporate issue and I am hoping to convince them to issue me a MacBook Pro soon
I'm quite happy except for the display port, which doesn't pass audio. It's had the motherboard replaced once under warranty. Windows 7 runs peachy. I have 4GB RAM, a 500GB 7200rpm HD, and T-tops. (Just kidding about the last part.)
ok thanks.... you sure you ready for the jump to Mac...???
T tops....? Sorry, what am I missing...???
Motherboard replaced.... darn, hasnt Lenovo finally fixed those darned GPU issues..???!!!
The sooner the better for me
OK... I bit the Iphone.... but the Mac.... sorry, thats too much Apple for me....
No such thing
In my case it was because of a sudden shutdown issue. That's why God invented warranties.
May be not for Apple the users, but certainly for the ones that have to listen to them
[From my milePoint enabled iPhone]
My T510 has been chugging along without issue for six months now (I believe the current model is the T520)
I still have my old T60p.
Thats what I want to read..... Im thinking of getting a T520....
At that price point you should consider an X220.
Could I ask you to please elaborate...? Also, Im concerned that the X series machines are perhaps not built as rugged as the T series, which are supposed to be travel work horses, etc.
Any insight you could provide on this would be greatly appreciated !!!
