These hotels can't be beat, Road Warriors say

    The staff at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway "sets it apart" from other hotels, says frequent business traveler Richard Hadden.

    "From the doormen to the desk clerks to the managers, the staff is unfailingly polite, friendly, helpful and accommodating," says Hadden, an author and a speaker who lives in Jacksonville. "The concierges in the lounge, Joyce and Crystal, are among the best in the business."
    Hadden also raves about the hotel's restaurant and its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

    Many business travelers have favorite hotels that make their trips smoother or more enjoyable. They are favored for, among other reasons, their attractive rooms, top service, amenities and location.
    USA TODAY asked Hadden and others on its panel of Road Warriors — some of the world's most frequent travelers who voluntarily provide travel information — to identify their favorite hotels and resorts. Here are some of their responses:

    James Gilmore, an author and a speaker in Chesterland, Ohio, has two favorites, both in California: L'Ermitage Beverly Hills and Hotel Vitale in San Francisco.
    "I love the minimalist design of the guest rooms in both hotels," Gilmore says.
