I mentioned in my post about The Doughnut Vault that prior to heading to Chicago I was looking to find some places that seemed a bit more off the beaten path. When I came across the Sh!t Fountain I knew that I had found possibly one of the oddest sites. The fountain is located outside of a private home at 1005 N. Wolcott Avenue. It was created by Chicago artist Jerzy S. Kenar due to being pissed about locals not cleaning up after their dogs. I felt that the reasoning for creating this work of art was totally appropriate. I just wonder how the neighbors feel about it. From the moment we set eyes on the Sh!t Fountain my brother Corey and I could not stop laughing. It's a bit out of place being in front of such a nice building but I guess it adds character to the neighborhood. The sculpture is a really awesome yet ridiculous site to see and well worth the few minutes we dedicated to our visit. The batman sculpture is a great re-creation of dog poop (if you ask me) and no I am not a poop connoisseur. During our time at the batman Fountain surprisingly no other visitors stopped by. I would love to know how many people visiting Chicago take time out of their trip to visit such a shitty fountain? If you are planning to go to Chicago, I'd recommend stopping by! Check out some more photos of the Sh!t Fountain on my blog HERE The link doesn't seem to be working due to Milepoint changing the word Sh it to batman which then changes the link.
