    The Registry Collection program, the world’s largest luxury exchange program and one of the Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE: WYN) family of brands under the RCI umbrella, today announced that it welcomed more than 20 newly affiliated resorts in 2010. The program now includes a total of more than 180 properties available for exchange or under development in approximately 35 countries.

    what the heck..

    it used to just be fractionals..

    now there are timeshares! and now hotels?

    are you kidding?

    if you can buy a resale timeshare and exchange into fractional single family homes and luxury resorts?

    thats never been done before.

    maybe ill see if i can get a directory or something.

    But the timeshare comes with an obligation to pay annual fees for maintenance, taxes, etc. which can rise in the future. Sometimes people can't even give away their timeshares for this reason. It seems especially risky now, given that luxury home prices appear to still be declining.

    timbers fractionals are several hundred thousand dollars up front, and tens of thousands a year, even resale...regardless of how expensive disney timeshares are, theyre not that much.

    its just a question of how the system works, whether its points, etc.

    this is not about timeshares, its about buying timeshare and exchanging for better. i am NOT a timeshare person AT ALL. i would only consider destination club. but this im curious about. the addition of the timeshares must be very new, and its never been done before.
