It's with great sadness that I must post about the passing of magic111 last night. Jim was one of my oldest friends on Flyertalk. He rode on BRT 1. It's a sad day for all of us that knew him. :(

Jim loved sweets. Make sure to enjoy a bakery goodie today in his honor.

I'll post additional news as available.

I'm not much of an AA forum guy, but met him in Alaska in 2010. You will be missed.

I've posted my sorrow to hear of this on FlyerTalk, where our friendship began. Jim truly was interested in helping everyone and though I never asked him, he came over here to Milepoint to help get it started and has nearly 150 of our most valuable posts. That is the kind of guy he was — friendly and helpful every day of his life. He knew no boundaries for others and that's why he became one of those unknowns behind the keyboard that became a real-life friend, my friend.

I still can't believe that Jim is gone. :(

I got to know Jim over on Flyertalk as well and have had the privilege of meeting him many times.

You won't find a more helpful and classy guy.

Rest in peace, Jim. You'll be missed. My deepest condolences to Jim's family

Somehow I missed this earlier in the day. Tommy777 just told me about this and I'm utterly shocked. Jim always struck me as a genuinely nice human being, very kind and considerate of others.

He will be missed. A true loss.

Yesterday afternoon, Jim was out running. He collapsed and had a heart attack. I can only pray that he didn't know what hit him. It's a sad day to be sure. :(

Jim was the person responsible for giving and naming the Brooklyn Reality Tour. At the time, I called it the Brooklyn Tour; but after the Kramer Reality Tour on Seinfeld, Jim decided that Brooklyn Reality Tour had the right ring to it.

This comes a s a total shock to me - I've met Jim several times on DOs. It is far too early for him to depart from this world.

Jim, I will always remember the good times we had together. Rest in peace and let's hope we meet again one time at a better place.

I'm very sorry for your family and close friends. Best wishes and condolences from me, I hope that they will be able to cope with this tragedy in the next weeks.

I met Jim at the Boo Doo in Sevilla. He was such a sweet, friendly guy who generously spread his warmth and good humor around. The frequent flyer community has lost a very special soul; he will truly be missed.

We have travelled with Jim and Jerrie to many wonderful destinations all around the world, but my all time favorite was when we went to Valencia for Las Fallas. He was as excited over the fireworks (both audio and visual) as a little kid and made it a lot more fun for all of us. RIP, my friend. You will be greatly missed.

It was a beautiful day for Jim's service.

The weather cooperated for us to send Jim off to that big soccer game in the sky. Jerrie's daughter and son had created lovely photo posters of Jim in his travels, including places I'd never even heard of. There was his and Jerrie's wedding picture, pictures of his children and grandchildren, and photos of him with several FF'ers who were present for the wake. We brought greetings form those FF'ers who couldn't make it, including Dhammer53, who was attending his mother's 90th Birthday. I know Jerrie and the family so appreciated everyone's support.

There were friends from all his big walks of life - fellow travelers, soccer friends, extended family, and neighborhood buddies. His daughter- in-law (who recounted the story of how he showed up on her doorstep unannounced to see his 3-week-old grandchild) read a lovely note from his niece who could not be there. As a teenager, she had an amazing trip to Europe with Jim carrying only one suitcase that had to fit in the cabin and that she had to carry herself.

Jim's son (Diego?) spoke very movingly of Jim's early challenges with his sons and how Diego now hoped he would be as good a man as Jim was.

JDiver, SanDiego1K and myself all spoke briefly, remembering a gentle, opinionated, life-living, smart man who we all loved and will miss.

The ultimate FT tribute - which I found so much a part of who Jim was - the flowers that JDiver arranged to send were through AA's shopping portal and earned a few miles.

I for one hope to be a better person for knowing Jim.
