    was a tie up with Emirates :eek:

    SPG just burned me too many times in the past, I realized I did not even have an active SPG account when I signed up for this Emirates deal

    I am sure many MPers love SPG, they just have not worked out for me in the past but they are definitely a good fallback for me where there are no decent IHG properties

    I have been on an Emirates flight at least 4 times a month for almost 10 years, so SPG will likely get some opportunities to redeem themselves ;)

    Some discussion of the new reciprocal recognition in this thread. The benefits are best when you are at the top of either program, so yes it is an incentive. Also, if you use DL, you can go back and forth between programs by selecting your preference.

    While I was not successful in getting the benefits on EK last week, SPG was alerted and hopefully will communicate this with their partners at Emirates.

    Please help with this one:

    -Why do I not get targeted for some SPG promotions while others do? (like the targeted one " we like to see you more") What comes accross is that you do not want to see me more because I was not targeted....
    -Why are there often so very long gaps (4-6 weeks) in between SPG promotions. The current one expires on December 15th, 2014. I would be very surprised and happy if there would be a generic one staring right away and not on Feb. 1st, 2015.

    On a final note, there are many things I DO LIKE about the SPG programs and its benefits for SPG P members!

    How about my second question...

    We value the feedback provided by our members with great importance. Every promotion, be it regional or global, is planned and organized based on various market influences. There are many different offers in market at any given time whether it be for brand specific offers or divisional offers or individual hotel offers or those from SPG itself, so they should be viewed as a marketing strategy in its totality. You should always look for what’s new on spg.com to get the latest on what is being offered. While there may not be back-to-back SPG global promotions, there is always something going on and spg.com is the place to find them.
