Hi hoping for some constructive help and ideas/strategies given circumstances plz
    I have mr flt
    Feb 24-26 Dublin via cdg
I bought EC seats and chose my seats as I prefer on 767 to be near a window in though i prefer GEC
So I had to settle for row 18 A EC both directions
I just looked at that flight and metal changed from 300 to 400
As such I was placed into 18d
EC I am furious my preference in profile is window
And they randomly?????? Moved me poof like
    A chicken in a crate
ALL the ECs are gone now
The cs on phone offered to move me to
Priority seat with a window i said NO thanks(stupidity)
I PAID For EC seat 18A
    now I'm really boiling
I wrote delta a letter I gave them the name of the
Moronic supervisor who was useless in problem solving.
    now im looking for suggestions
how to handle this debacle going forward on this flite please
    Realistic and genuine
I'm a GM elite plus and extremely loyal
I suggested they randomly move the person inMY original seat into the middle and return my originally book seat since they seem to be able
To do that without regard for the passenger !!!!!!
    Boiling

And then a week later we have a thread here from that passenger who carefully selected that seat and is p'ed off that they were moved.

It is DL, the flight will change again between now and February. I suggest you read the T&C as you didn't buy a specific seat. Although I do agree a middle seat is not a window seat, there is nothing that they can do.

I can't help you on what to say to Delta but I would just keep checking back to see if someone moves or a seat opens up. Especially starting 10 days out and going in because people may bump up and you can snag their EC seat.

This is where the Expert Flyer seat alert may come in handy?

    Sigh
I fully understand I did not buy that "seat"
I guess had it been on a sky team partner, I would not have been
so upset but I guess I expected
More from delta..... I guess, guess again!

Just a comment - you can setup a seat alert on Expert Flyer for no charge ... may help you in doing some of the checking ... here is the link for more information

Did you write a letter and mail it in? (you make reference to a letter) Did you get a reply yet?

I find written, signed and mailed letters do the best.

    http://upgrd.com/sitinfirst/successful-complaint-letter-regarding-a-weather-delay.html

While it is unlikely they'll move the person out of the seat you want, write a calm, rational letter to them..saying you paid to confirm an Ec seat...wouldn't have done it if only middle were available, etc... You'll get something...and probably will end up at least not in a middle seat by time of departure.

If your schedule is flexible and another flight is available with the seats you originally booked, I would ask Delta to change the flights as a courtesy to you since they uncourteously changed your seat on the original flight.

Well, I'd write in to the executive line to state my issue (keep it professional, not emotionally charged filled with brimstone and wrath). Unfortunately, these things do sometimes occur, and travel can just be stressful. Sometimes you just get the short end of the stick. Definitely write in though; maybe their response will be useful. Sorry for the angst.

The 764 is much better than the old 763 that have not been updated. In seat power and AVOD are nice options on TATL flights.

Row 18 is still EC, so it sounds like they did not move you from EC; if you do not want the middle, see if row 30 is open. It has the best leg riom of any seat in Y on the 764 Keep in mind, while you are a GM, it's possible higher Medallion levels and their companions were accommodated first, which could have messed up your seat options.

IIRC, you're flying JFK-CDG-DUB. Looking at DL.com, EC on DL 184 is wide open on February 24:

Sorry, missed the date revisions. While an EC window is not open, you can still get an aisle:

    Row 30 is also open.

On the 26th, EC does look full, but row 30 and many other seats are open.

Am I the only one who found that post hard to read?

They can and will move you if they feel the urge. I was on a flight just last night where the GA informed us he had made seat changes so that more people could have a seat by themself as the flight was not very full. This resulted in his moving me from 3A to 11C, on a tiny regional jet, so I was at the back of the plane next to the lavatory!

Seat change was made at the whim of a GA and I had no recourse, so I'm thinking you aren't going to have any luck as long as you still get an EC seat.

No, you are not the only one.

I think the OP needs to take the advice of others and change to another seat if the one you were changed to was not acceptable. You have time to keep pushing DL to make a change for you, but you might want to take the best you can get now and see if you can get moved at check in or at the gate.

I tried gambling a few weeks ago thinking I would get something better on check in, but ended up getting stuck in a middle seat on a full flight.
