Thanks for posting, uggboy. I suspect that the Queen's Guard soldier was later chastised for his actions, but this idiot certainly had it coming!
Don't know the rules other than the rest of you through bad hollywood scripts but I would think once he makes physical contact the guard has a right to defend himself. Hands off. Everything else I "think" is fair game.
Indeed, tourists should show some "common sense" and respect, plus a "hands off" at all times approach.
I think the guard responded properly according to training. A real attack could begin exactly the same way, they need to be prepared. Unlike some cases we see with police in the U.S., I'm sure that guard is properly trained in how not to shoot randomly or unnecessarily.
I would assume that the gun is not loaded.
Funny ... I would assume that it was.
Those kids laugh and look like they're 10.

Not for the guard, it's important to take them seriously.
