    They lost a lot of credibility in the second sentence:

    "It was the first passenger plane made entirely of composites rather than aluminum"

    And frankly, what exactly is the point of polling Flyertalkers about the root cause of the problem? It's not like there is reason to believe that those numbers reflect reality as far as the cause is concerned.

    They did, I agree. Why any of us as avid consumers should know anything about this is beyond me. Except by coincidence, we don't. I did think it was good enough to post.

    Does this mean Boeing sent blueprints of engines to GE or Rolls Royce? I don't think so.
