Milepoint has a picture upload function, and New Zealand is ridiculously beautiful, right? So let's make the most of it with the Deeply Awesome New Zealand Pictures. I'm sure that frequent travellers like us have a few faves up our sleeves.

Only Deeply Awesome Pictures should be posted here, and use your judgement on how many to post at once to avoid enormous pages.

Here's one of Doubtful Sound to start!

There are way too many beautiful sites in New Zealand. I mean, I 'm a fan of all the shots I have from my car as we were driving around the South Island. Just surrounded by beauty. Amazing. Anyway, these aren't necessarily the best of the best, but I like them.

Where ... I'm not sure. But this was from a helicopter that we took from Fox Glacier.

    Queenstown of course.

Ah yes. I have tons of those shots too. "It's, um, a glacial valley somewhere?" ;)

best thread idea yet. I am so obsessed with New Zealand. Here are some pics from my 2009 trip.

    queenstown-lookout.jpg
    Queenstown Lookout

    dolphin-jump.jpg
taken on my cruise of Milford Sound (one of the most breathtaking places I've ever been)

    goats-in-the-window.jpg
taken while driving through Deer Park Heights right outside Queenstown. This place is pretty amazing and a favorite for location shooting. LOTR. XMen. Good thing we had some insurance, because we got all kinds of marks on our rental car here...

    glacier-hole.jpg
taken inside a moulin on Fox Glacier.

this is just at some random place on the road. we pulled over for a break and stumbled across this.

I can not wait to get back. Maybe that's what these Citi AA cards will fund...

Grab an award flight on Air Tahiti Nui if you can. It's the most fun you'll ever have in an economy class seat, and you can grab a stopover in Tahiti on the way.

Have you done this before? I've been searching for details on possibly booking this trip and am looking for any tips. Any guess as to the number of miles needed? Potential length of stopover? This sounds like it could be a really awesome route.

One of the things I love the most about where I live in Wellington is the view over the Harbour. This sailboat (which I think is relatively well know -- I looked it up on the Marine AIS and it had a website and everything) happened by the other week.

So was the Steve Irwin, one of Sea Shepherd's anti-whaling boats.

Well it's certainly not as awesome as some of the simply breathtaking shots - but I present the City of Sails:

Yes, but very very minimal processing. The sky really did look just like that.
