Travel means eating breakfast out, something I rarely do at home. Sure, it's easy to eat at your hotel (especially if breakfast is included) but there are some places worth a special excursion. So let's list some of our favorites.

Boulder, Colorado - Le Peep. A chain, but this is the original and has kept the quality control that the franchises have not always. Good pancakes, but the highlight for me is the skillet dishes with hash browns, various ingredients and eggs (which you can have left off).

Boulder, Colorado - Walnut Cafe. Particularly good omelets and you can get blueberry corn bread as one of the side dishes with them.

Various California locations - Hobee's. Great hash browns, with various things in them (e.g. mushrooms and cheese.)

Hobee's rocks. I try to eat breakfast there every time I visit CA.

In SEA, its the 5 Spot. good standard menu, but the themed specials really make it a must have.

Can I get Folgers in my cup? (damn jingle)!

I assume you don't want Chinese breakfast or dim sum brunch. Had a good crazy breakfast at the Broken Yolk in San Diego...get the Broken Yolk special...

SEA - Dahlia Lounge, do not miss the donuts, ask for them to come out before you main course. Love the brunch because you can get real food at 10 am, not just eggs.

I really like Mamma's on Washington Square in San Francisco.

Bravo Burger near ONT as well.
