    I note that ORD is one of the worst, adding 34 minutes (average) on a round-trip (connecting?) flight.

    One might attribute that to the weather, yet MSP is one of the better airports, adding only 9 minutes on what they call a "round-trip". So, I don't think you can blame it that much just on the weather. MSP has some very bad weather in the winter, even taking into consideration the lake effect in ORD, but they're well-organized (in my experience) and used to working with low temperatures and blowing snow.

    For a long time, if I had to connect in the upper Midwest during the winter, I would tend to book Northwest through MSP rather than United through ORD just because of that.
