Does anyone have any experience with this property? We are booked to stay there next weekend. I know its a bit off the "beaten path" but not so far from some of the places I like to go while in London.

I'm curious about others who might have experiences or reviews of this property.

It's a nice hotel. When I stayed there last year, it was before I made Diamond and had Gold status. They usually upgrade Golds by one room level and Diamonds by two room levels where possible.

That means if you have booked a basic room, you should get a Deluxe Room there. These rooms are actually pretty spacious with a full sofa, coffee table, work desk area etc. The bathrooms are also pretty large too. In the couple of rooms I have had there, there were full jacuzzi baths and a walk in shower in these rooms. The decoration is rather 'traditional' and the bathrooms are a bit OTT with faux gold taps. It's a bit like Donald Trump was asked to do the bathroom design for them. [IMG] I can't comment on any of the suites as I've only ever bought the cheapest rooms there.

It is in a nice quiet location, but in easy walking distance to the Underground station, so easy to get around.

Service was very good from my experiences. A bit formal, but certainly not unfriendly. They do seem to like to look after HHonors members, so I would hope that you have a good stay there.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Thanks for the feedback! There were only five hotels available with HHonors points that had two bed rooms available. This seemed to be the best bang for the points since we got a low-season Waldorf redemption for what would have normally been higher.

My friend and I both like more "boutique" style hotels and this seemed to fit the bill. I also either like VERY quiet hotels or those that are THE scene. After years as a Diamond, I'm only a Gold (and barely that) so I'm certainly not expecting anything above what they are supposed to give me, but I'm excited to try something new! I know our booked room type has a jacuzzi tub (which I am certainly I'll be locking myself in the bathroom to enjoy!) and a few other amenities that sounded nice.

I'll post my own review after I return!

AFAIK, there is no Executive Lounge at the Bentley. For those wanting a little bit more info on some of the guests, this story from the Mirror site might be of interest.

OT - I'm not sure what it is about Liz that causes her boyfriends to seek out some pretty bizzare women to cheat on her with, but it appears that Hugh Grant is not the only one to feel this urge.

We've had a lovely stay here. As a Gold (on an award), we were upgraded to a junior suite (and they apologized that nothing better was available as we needed two beds). Junior suite was lovely - looks like it normally ajoins to one of the larger suites - the room had a small hallway with a minibar and then a doorway into the bedroom area. Two twin beds with lovely bedding as well as a small sitting area, then a dressing area and separate bathroom.

I thought the decor was lovely if a bit over the top (which I like). The crystal chandelier in the center of the room is probably 5' tall and very ornate. Gorgeous heavy velvet draperies, lovely paneled walls, lots of decorative molding, silk covered duvets and pillows, and matching carpets. I think the linens are Frette.

As previously reported, the bathrooms are marble and gold with a jetted tub. Toiletry products are a US brand called Agraria and I found them delightful - the lemon verbena scent is similar to one I like from L'Occitaine.

Staff were lovely - no issues there.

We did not dine in the hotel restaurants but did have late night fizz in the downstairs bar our first evening. It's very intimate and reminds me of a dark Parisian lounge.

The neighborhood is perfect for me and I think this may be one of my new go-to properties in London. It's away from the immediate crowds in a somewhat residential part of South Kensington but about a three minute walk from the Piccadilly Line (Glouster Road station) and therefore not too far from many of my favorite things about town. There were plenty of restaurants and bars nearby for a quick bite and everything else one might want within a couple of blocks (Starbucks, Tesco, a pharmacy, etc.)

Don´t think golds get free breakfast at Waldorf, or has this changed recently?

Amazing Stay at The Bentley Hotel, London

My wife had always wanted to stay at this hotel. She had only been here for drinks years ago before it became a Hilton. So when the chance came to spend a night in London on my way home from the Seychelles we chose this hotel. Being that we were only going to be there for one night I decided to pay for the junior suite instead of just the regular room. I often do this when I don’t want to worry about an upgrade.

When we arrived I was a bit blown away. The hotel is your standard classic city hotel. It takes most/all the block. We were welcomed by the two men working the desk. While checking in we were told we had been upgraded to one of the Royal Suites. Of course I said thank you. I had no idea then what that entailed, but was very grateful. We also had asked for a 1pm check out and were easily granted that.

We were shown up to the room by the other man at the desk. Just up on the 2nd floor via the small elevator we were shown down the hall to our room.

Upon entering the room it opens to the right down a small hall way. There is a half bath on the right and the living room at the end of the hall. The bedroom spreads out to the left. Off of the bedroom is another hall that takes you to the master bathroom on the right and a walk in wardrobe on the left. This place was amazing. It was large. It was more hotel room than I’ve ever experienced.

The living room was large. On the right is a couch with an armchair while a small table is in front of it. On this table was a wonderful slice of birthday cake and other chocolates. As this was a few days after my actual birthday I was truly surprised by this gesture. It did however please very much, thank you. The room also features a large working desk opposite the 42 or so inch TV. I did have a little work to check on while here so this is where I did that while checking in on the cricket world cup.

The main feature of the bedroom was of course the large king bed. There was also a TV in here about the same size. I found the bed to be extremely comfortable although my wife thought it was too hard. The covers were heavy and warm and really ensured I was able to get an excellent night’s sleep.

In the master bathroom you will find your vanity and sink on the left white a full marble tub on the right. As you go further into the bathroom the shower is on the right with a toilet on the left.

Check out the next morning was just as easy. We left the hotel just after 12 and were wished a great flight home. This was such an amazing stay I would now say, within reason, I will always stay at this hotel when in town.

Nice review! What was the general price range and how many attractions are within walking distance?

Price range for regular rooms was just under 200 pounds. I paid about 40 more for the junior suite.

It was noted that through the end of February is their low season.

As for attractions, we were in town just for Harrods. It took about 20 minutes to walk there in the morning. We passed the Victoria and Albert museum part way through.

There are several pubs and other restaurants in the area as well as many other hotels.

The Bentley has changed from the Waldorf=Astoria brand to the Hilton main brand and this should see that all Gold // Diamond benefits would // should be honored and yes, Peter Thomas Roth in their bathrooms which of course are simply awesome with whirlpool bath, full marbled and separate shower stalls. We really loved the Alegria bath amenities too when it was a WA property during our stay.:)
