And so it is good.
Alaska typically has a card with a little prayer on it that comes on the tray with your meal. First time I flew with them, it struck me as a little odd as I've never seen anything like that on other airlines.
On one hand, its sad to see such a long standing tradition die.... on the other hand, I never really liked the prayer card, and can see how some might see it as offensive - so its probably best that it will be gone.
I guess now Alaska Airlines hasn't got a prayer!
Fortunately, they still have a wing, or two.
Slavery was a tradition, as was Chinese feet binding. Even slaying the first born, for a time (well, for those who liked the prayer cards )
AS is getting beaten up pretty good on their Facebook page for removing the prayer cards.
The last couple of days would not be good if I worked for them in their social media department.
I'm anxious to sell mine on E-Bay....or to the hordes commenting on their facebook page. Many, I'm sure doing so by commentators to the right of the center of the spectrum.
I just wonder, if they'd done this quietly and no announcements how many would have even noticed? Where was the outcry in 2006 when they were removed from coach meals? I mean, you never got one with your Angus Cheeseburger or your Morning Skillet. I'm guessing that a large chunk of those commenters haven't been in the pointy end of the plane for a long time.
Flying AS up front on Sunday and look forward to seeing this controversial card (for the first time).
**Giveaway Alert** -- The 1st reply from someone who really cares about this will get my authentic, soon to be collectible, autographed prayer card!
