Only IATA-accredited sites using Canada as the point of sale can be used for claims.

Many good deals are not by Aircanada, so we still have to keep searching......

The 24 hour guarantee is quite nice in that if there is a fare sale announced immediately after you have bought a ticket- this may work- i.e. go to Expedia and then file a claim?

Can anybody explain if this differs from the "old" guarantee - is this really "new" or simply a re-launch of the existing promise?

Nope - they have that one covered and tell you to cancel and re-book on ac.com at the lower price using their (existing) 24 hour cancellation period.

"The lower price must not be available on aircanada.com or aircanada.com/agent If you find a lower price on aircanada.com within 24 hours after completing the purchase of your ticket on our website, our flexible cancellation process allows you to cancel and obtain a refund for your original Air Canada booking free of charge, and purchase the lower price on aircanada.com The Lowest Price Guarantee does not apply to a ticket for which you choose to request a refund."

    So Expedia's rate should work?
I like the award redemption. ^^

This is OK though- if it also applies to their own website.

Indeed - although the ability to cancel and re-book within 24 hours has been around for a long time - possibly forever.

Now I have learned something new. Thanks The Lev- will remember that if I make a flight mistake in the future- previously I have paid a change fee.

Even travel agents aren't always aware of this. I've had to tell our corporate agent to call AC to confirm that they can cancel free of charge ...
