I know this is not really appropriate for this forum (yet) but.......... I have posted about my problems making a reservation at the London W for the 2012 Olympics. To make a long story short, they had standard rooms available for a paid reservation but could / would not book a reward stay. When contacted directly, the hotel claimed they were "sold out" when, in fact, they were not. Turns out the root of the problem is that SPG will allow a paid reservation to be made months prior to being able to book an award stay. Not having the reward booking code in the system is why the SPG reservation department could not make the booking. After getting the Lurkers involved, they worked and were able to get the hotel to make the reservation for me. The hotel did have to circumvent the system and make it as a paid stay with a note to convert it to a points stay- but at least I have the reservation. I look forward to the Lurkers presence here so they can help everyone just like they have helped people on the other forum.
