Just received an email with the following. I have no idea why I was targeted for this (am currently Diamond, but only have ~12 stays/20 nights this year, mostly at PH type properties) and I still feel I received this in error, but if it turns out to be true, this is amazingly generous!

Thank you, Hyatt!! (will put in a strong effort to re-qualify for Diamond)

At Hyatt, we are excited to have the opportunity to show our appreciation for our most valued guests. In recognition and appreciation of your loyalty, we enthusiastically extend to you 50,000 United MileagePlus® award miles, to be deposited into your MileagePlus account within the next 2-3 weeks. We hope you enjoy this gift on behalf of Hyatt and MileagePlus. As always, we are truly grateful for your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

I just got it, too - I am Diamond and just about to requalify.

I, too, was wondering if someone was spamming me, as it is quite kind.

Wow really? 50k UA miles not from UA ... :) That's great.

I have had points from Hyatt stays credited to UA, but since I always have to give my MP# at the properties I didn't/don't know if it is stored anywhere or not. Presumably if UA and Hyatt were working together on this they could match up info from names, addresses, etc.

It does seem WAY too good to be true - I guess I haven't quite gotten over the shock of it!

I'm so jealous. I'm one night away from requalifying as Diamond, but no email for me.

17stays / 31nights for me towards Diamond requalification. No email for me either.

Though I've only ever used Hyatt points, never credited stays towards airmiles of any kind.

    Nothing for this Diamond:
    QUALIFIED STAYS YTD: 21
    QUALIFIED NIGHTS YTD: 24
I have credited to AA and US in the past, but love my Hyatt points so much more. But 50K UA -- I am a Premier Gold with them, so I could take 50K miles for a ride I'd remember for a long time! Congrats to those who got this.
DH, a SMDIII minted Diamond who has about 5 stays this year, and has, IIRC, never given up a Hyatt point for miles, did not receive the promo either.

I often have different addresses on file with different programs. Thought maybe thats why I missed this one... Just double checked: same address on file with both... so its not that..

Hmm.. and to think my wife and I spent $5-6k with Hyatt in the past two weeks....

No e-mail from Hyatt for me. I've been a Hyatt Diamond for 10 years, am a Hyatt credit card holder and UA 1K, however last year I obtained Hyatt Diamond only through participation in Star Mego-Do 3, and this year I've had only 2 revenue stays YTD. Did not participate in the summer Hyatt promo. I've moved away from Hyatt because of their lack of decent promos since early 2010, and the limited number of properties - most of which charge higher prices than the competition at airport and central city locations. The 50K UA mile bonus will not encourage me to move back to Hyatt because of its opaqueness. What is the threshold, and can we count on it in future years?

By contrast, I am maintaining UA 1K because of the more clearly defined threshold criteria and benefits, and the overall greater value of airline status including IRROPS protection and fee waivers.

I'm thrilled to have been included in what appears to be a targeted offer gift.

I am diamond, but by no means a high-roller diamond; in fact, I might be a cockroach diamond. In the age of quick dissemination of information doesn't Hyatt risk antagonizing the "better" diamonds by giving this to me but not them?

    I just question the wisdom a bit . . . .

Congrats to those of you who got it. Unfortunately, I can't stay at Hyatt to re-qualify for Diamond since the Hyatt near my client has been sold out every week I've been on my project. Maybe next year.

    Well, thank you.

But I have long felt there is a distinction between "loyalty" based on an interest in scoring benefits, and "loyalty" based on one enjoying the familiarity of a property or group of properties to the extent that one makes a point of visiting a certain hotel. For me, that property is the Hyatt Logan. Its an airport hotel, mind you, but one particular waitress at breakfast recently recalled, without asking, that I like grapefruit juice without my prompting. That feeling of not being anonymous at my more frequented properties makes a real difference to me.

I do, of course like the benefits too!

Congrats to all the lucky winners who got the miles.

Am I the only person who dislikes targeted promotions. Or am I just a sore looser in Hyatts eyes.

There must be some combination or method to the madness. Like diamond plus UA elite plus certain credit cards or maybe you earned night credit during a certain window, etc.
