On our first flight as lowly PremEx MMs, I not only got the last upgrade, but also received a "Thank You" card from Captain Molly Flannigan. For those of you who have never met her, she is Seattle-based and always comes out into the first-class cabin and introduces herself before the flight. I think that is a nice touch. She is also good about sharing information during the flight, which I like.
I flew with her a few months ago from DEN-SEA on a 752 and she was very engaging with the F cabin. Don't know if she passed out the cards, but either way it was certainly a nice experience.
I have a Capt Denny Flanagan and a Capt John McFadden in my United card collection Also had a great FA yesterday working a Trans States (UAX) flight. She actually thanked me by name for my loyalty to United during the drink service, then refreshed EVERYONE's drinks on her way back to the front of the cabin. Aside from calling me out by name, the excellent treatment I received was extended to all passengers, as far as I could tell. No GTEM certs, so I wrote the relevant info on the back of my business card and told her it was my substitute for a GTEM and to please treat it as such.
Molly Flannigan, Denny Flanagan, John McFadden... did United recruit their best captains from Aer Lingus?
Yes, of course, so have we, but in general, it feel like the service has been kicked up a notch. The FAs all seem to be a lot happier and friendlier.
I have a card from Capt Molly Flanagan, too. Very nice of her. Greeted each F customer, then had FA hand out her personalized cards later in flight. SEA-JFK flight 2 years ago. I liked it!
I also a card from Capt. Molly Flanagan, too. Flight 509 DEN-SEA on February 23rd. FA gave out her personalized cards right before final with a note on the back. Was great to have her as Capt. landing on a very snowy, windy night at SEA.
I had Molly a few months ago on a 5:30am SEA-DEN flight. It was great having her come out and introduce herself to the front cabin, although at that hour she was (fortunately) a bit more awake than her audience.
You sure it was two years ago? Pretty sure the SEA-JFK nonstop was terminated about six or seven years ago.
Yup it was just about 2 years ago. It could have been JFK-SEA however... regardless, I do have a card from Capt Flanagan. I have been using it as a bookmark.
