Welcome to MP and enjoy your Thai trip.
After that, you can always do a trip review here.

Also take a look at richardbarrow.com, esp. some of his older blogs. He has LOTS of interesting info on things tourists would not normally see and lots of great pictures to really give u an idea of what the area is really like :)

    Welcome to MilePoint!

I would highly recommend checking out AirAsia and looking for cheap deals to travel elsewhere in Thailand to Chiang Mai or Phuket even. I enjoyed the Phi-Phi Islands and would recommend that as well. :)

My boyfriend loves his go pro : We just booked flights from airasia we arrive in Bangkok in 4 months. From therre we go north to chiang mai and pai and then south to Phi Phi most likely . Theres a whopping amount of information on the forum link you guys sent so thank you again! Are there any real no go areas ?

Definitely do motorcycle taxi ride with your BF GoPro on his helmet ... you will have some memorable scenes.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Pai, and Phi Phi are all good ... just exercise common sense and caution as you do at hometown.

Kalboz is the resident Bangkok/Thailand expert, probably stayed in half of the five star hotels in BKK judging from the sheer number of his posts and reviews :D

FWIW, I can tell you that two weeks ago, we traveled from BKK to Hua Hin by car, and noticed absloutely no difference in anything about Thailand compared to the three tines we've been there in the past. Of course we were not in Bangkok city, but based on what we saw, Thailand is still beautiful, the people still wonderful, and we'd happily return .
