Although a bit late for gujjuglobal trip, this is good for a minimum two-nights stay in Chiang Mai. The Holiday Inn Chiang Mai is offering a free upgrade to superior riverview room (45 sqm) with breakfast included for THB 1,950 (around $63 all in) on wotif.com.

    Two lounges at BKK actually:
    1 for every customer
1 for passengers flying "blue ribbon class" aka business class + highest tier elite passengers on their program

PG even has a lounge in LPQ (distincltly the only airline to do so- and far more friendly than the gift shop may I add!)

No... nothing happened at the gift shop.

However at LPQ the options are:
    sit outside
    lounge for Bangkok Airways
clear security and look at the giftshop

It is fine- however the lounge is much nicer :)

Oh I see ... this is the duty-free shop where all those foreigners got arrested on sham charges and had to pay $$$ to get released! Now I remember ... for sure PG's lounge is much nicer! ;)

The Travelzoo Sheraton Krabi offer seems to be a fantastic price. I'm guessing it is pre-paid with no date changes allowed.

Given the date range (through October 31), what are the weather periods that are likely to be more favorable, or are recommended to be avoided?

Agreed, especially that the deal booked directly on the SPG website which will earn you nights/points and you will get the full status benefits.

As for the weather, the closer you get to the deadline (Oct. 31st) the nicer it will be ... but it varies from year to year. Travelfish has a nice interactive Thailand weather map.

This is off AWARD bookings (using their points) - if you read it too fast, as I did, you might think it was off purchased tickets:oops:

    Sofitel 40% Private Sale

    1. Sofitel Sukhumvit has pretty low price. 2940.00++ THB (around $110 total). I think it's brand new, a month or so?
    2. Sofitel So is a bit higher, 3300++ THB (around $126 total). Looks like the So is aiming for somewhat chic/hip style?
    3. There's a third sofitel, Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra.

Not really sure which area is better, I finally decided the Sukhumvit one.
Anyone visited any of those sofitel yet? Hope they fix any teething problem by June for my visit.
