Thailand - Chiang Mai - Shangri-La Hotel - Any experience / comments to share

    Does anyone have any experience or comments that they would like to share with someone considering statying in this hotel?

    I can tell you a bit, we have had a couple corporate events there.
    This property in my opinion has a pretty nice mix of things: great service, good food, nice grounds. Close to the hubbub of the night market (short walk) but not right in the middle of it like the Le Meridien is. The one thing I would say depending on your desired outcomes and budget- this hotel is kind of in the hustle bustle. It is on a medium busy/busy street. They have done a nice job of creating more secluded grounds etc, but it is not an isolated feel. For example if you are looking more for the exotic Thailand type deal, more idyllic is the Mandarin Oriental Dhara Dhevi. Probably more expensive than the Shangri La though. here is a link:

    Depends what you want. I think the Shangri La in Chiang Mai is a really nice spot.
