  1. Thai Airways launches new loyalty tier for frequent flyers
Thai Airways has introduced an invitation-only platinum tier to its Royal Orchid Plus programme. The invitation is extended only to Thai customers who travel frequently in its premium classes and have maintained gold status for a long period. Members need to have earned at least 50,000 miles or flown at least 40 international Thai flights in a calendar year.
Added benefits of platinum status include no expiry of miles (miles for silver and gold members expire after three years), and a waiver of service fees, such as those for changing the award nominee or for re-routing a Thai award ticket. Other platinum benefits include priority reservation and a dedicated check-in area in Bangkok airport.

TG Plat has been in existence since 2011. They recently delineated how to achieve the level as initially it was only by invite but now it is able to be earned provided 80K (including COS bonus) miles are flown in C/F two consecutive years.

    This is old news really.

  3. Sorry for that. I saw it on a blog and it was newly dated and I had not personally heard of the platinum program before that.
