It was a mistake to play this recorded message @ 3AM, this shouldn't have happened!

It surely is unfortunate, hope they have now better procedures in place to control their tapes better! Sheer terror indeed!

The Brits are known for their dry sense of humor but that was...well...not funny at all!

Was this a new story? I only ask b/c last year there was a story just like this, except that flight was flying over Canada (i think)....actually, if read the whole article:
Regardless, bad move BA. I know it was an accident, but I surely hope this doesnt happen again, I would be scared sh**less (literally). Did BA compensate them for the terror and panic?

I've had something slightly similar happen on a BA flight, although not as dramatic. As we taxied of the runway at OSL, they played the norwegian dubbed tape telling us we were about to land..

Correct spelling of the company name, it seems, is "British Errorways."

I'm sure it ends with, "...thank you for flying British Airways. To fly. To serve."

I think there is a discussion about this floating around somewhere on the internet- needless to say there are many many scenarios.
