Somehow I doubt that this MA OW addition would benefit me in any way.

And in spite it being a completely different aircraft, I can already see the talking heads on TV making comparisons.

At least for now, we're all sensitive, are we?

You can't deny you'd think twice now while choosing between MA and some other carrier for any upcoming flight, can you?

We see relationships where they don't exist though. Nobody even knows what happened to MH370 yet, whether it was mechanical or not, deliberate or not. Either way, that was a 772 with who-knows-what kind of problem and this is an A330 with a very specific issue. Doesn't speak to a maintenance problem or any sort of systemic issue within Malaysian airlines.

I was scheduled for a US Airways A320 flight a couple of months after 1549 went in the Hudson. That freaked me out completely because it really brought attention to the bird strike problems out of NYC. Same goes for anybody that had reservations about boarding a 787 when all the battery issues were ongoing.

I don't think that I would actively seek flights NOT on MH based on these incidents, no. Or at least not yet :)

Well, I usually fly to LED in September and for a couple of years after 9/11 I would make sure I'd book a flight on that date. ;)
