For general knowledge here, what is the taxi situation like @ AEP? Are there booths where you buy a fare in advance? Are there a billion taxistas offering you "taxi, taxi" and negotiated fares? Is there a taxi stand and you simply go out and the meter goes on? Scams to watch out for?

Unless you are a local or know your ways around Buenos Aires very well (and are fluent in Porteño), I strongly advice against accepting the hustlers that offer you rides at AEP.

So how do you suggest getting a taxi there?

Use the normal taxi line, just dont accept the offers of rides made by guys that approach you on the airport lobby floor.

  5. Whenever I traveled with luggage in Buenos Aires, I always used a Remis - there is a kiosk in the terminal. A little more expensive, but a bit more piece of mind, especially if you are arriving at night.
