    I got a targeted offer by email from United this morning.

    2x RDM only good on higher end fare classes (see below), but P and Z are included.

    I'm happy to get a free Regional even if I can't take advantage of the 2x RDMs.

    Terms and conditions:
    1. Only original recipients of the email invitation to the offer can register and participate in the promotion.
    2. To qualify for this offer, eligible members must register through the promotion website prior to travel, then purchase and complete travel to any destination served by United or United Express® during the qualifying ticketing and travel periods. Registration for the promotion must be completed by May 31, 2014.
    3. Ticketing dates: April 22, 2014 – July 31, 2014.
    4. Travel dates: May 1, 2014 – July 31, 2014.
    5. Members can earn double award miles for travel on paid qualifying published fares in F, A, J, C, D, Z, P, Y, B, M, E, U, and H.
    6. Double award miles is defined as two award miles for each mile flown and include base miles earned on paid segments flown during the promotion period.
    7. For this offer, “roundtrip” is defined as travel from an origin city to a destination city with return travel from the destination city back to the origin city, with all flight segments operated by United or United Express. A “segment” is defined as one takeoff and one landing. One-way trips, circle trips, multi-city itineraries and itineraries with stopovers do not qualify for this offer.
    8. Bonus may be earned for a maximum of 50,000 award miles in accordance with these terms and conditions.
    9. The offer is not valid on United-marketed codeshare flights operated by other carriers.
    10. The offer is not valid on government fares.
    11. Passenger must be a member of the United MileagePlus program to qualify for this offer.
    12. This offer is not combinable with other non-combinable offers.
    13. Bonus miles will be posted to the member's MileagePlus account six to eight weeks after the end of the promotion period.
    14. This offer does not apply to Premier® qualifying miles (PQM), class-of-service bonus miles, class-of-service PQM, Premier bonus miles, redeemable bonus miles or other promotional PQM.
    15. Service charges for ticketing with a United representative in the 50 United States, District of Columbia and Canada are $25 by phone, $30 at a City Ticket Office and $35 in person at the airport. Ticketing charges may vary outside of the U.S. and Canada and based on MileagePlus status level. The ticketing service charge does not apply for tickets purchased on united.com. Service charges are subject to change.
    16. Offer is subject to change without notice. Other restrictions may apply.

    My wife got the same offer yesterday (I didn't).

    Seeing that I have four RPUs in my account with no clear plan to use it (looking at our anticipated travel this year that could involve UA), I am leaning towards the two Club passes. I am currently holding the UA Club VISA, but will kill that in a month or so unless Chase is willing to waive the annual fee (fat chance).

    Double RDM... might potentially get 1000 miles out of that. Whoopee!

    only for expensive fare buckets or discounted premium tix (P, Z, D?)

    Over last summer I was flying in $800+ - $1,100+ tix between OGG and SFO that were S or T fares. Those would not be eligible. It only goes as low as H.

    They are already booked, so not eligible. Nice that you got those assuming you found the $1500 P fares to Europe. I booked 3 of them.

    Read the T&Cs. I even posted them :)

    My wife didn't participate in any survey either. I am her travel assistant and receive all the emails ;)


    Yeah, I just double-checked and turns out the tickets I was looking at were relatively expensive but not in expensive fare buckets. Anything really expensive I would either not fly or use awards as I am no longer looking for PQMs.

    We have no significant history of buying fares in those fare classes, so not sure why they think this bonus would trigger us to spend more. Our massive drop-off in UA bookings this year compared to the previous decade should lead them to different conclusions.

    We used to call those "HoMeBoY" fares -- fare buckets H, M, B, and Y. I don't think E and U were common in those days.

    lol great acronym .. I guess maybe E or U are lower than H, which is it? Still, the common fares that most people buy, that aren't necessarily cheap, are excluded.

    It's nice to be included in a promo and I did get a regional out of it, so that's nice. I'm sure other people are getting it, no idea what the screen is.

    I got the promo and picked the regional, but I don't think it every got deposited. Or does it expire on Jan 31 so it's mixed in with my others?

    the T&Cs posted above say Jan 2015, so they aren't going to stick out with a new/later expiration date.

    In online activity and statements, in the upgrade section, you should be able to see upgrade deposits.

    Mine haven't been deposited yet. The T&Cs say 7 - 10 days.

    RPU deposit took something on the order of 3-4 weeks, not 7-10 days.

    WTH United, why did you send my wife another offer for double miles today, with different (shorter) promo dates?! This new (?) promo ends June 30, for tickets ticketed from today onwards. Same fare classes.

    Any connection to the survey? I got the survey in the second wave, and appear to have been in the second wave of this promo, as I received it about a week ago.
