We will be flying FC into LHR onward to VIE from T3. Layover is 3h45m. Since the layover is rather short, is there any possibility to utilize the BA lounge outside of security?
Is the AA lounge airside? Thank you for your recommendations.

Time will be quite tight, but it is theoretically possible.

The BA Arrivals Lounge is landside at T5, so you have to clear immigration. Much would depend on how long it takes you to do that, which can be very random. After you've used the lounge there, you would have to transfer to T3 landside under your own steam, either by Heathrow Express (once every 15 minutes - free) or by Tube (once every 10 minutes or more - free if you have an Oyster card or a contactless credit/debit card, all of which must be touched in and touched out in the usual way but for a zero charge). It does take a little time to get from the terminal to the platform at each end, more so at the T3 end of the transfer. Then you clear standard outbound security as if you had just checked-in at T3.

If you're flying on BA to T5, I'm not sure what would give you access to the AA Arrivals Lounge at T3 (except payment). That is also landside, upstairs in the arrivals building (so you would have to walk across to the T3 departures building afterwards).

If you were to transfer airside from T5, you'd get the transfer bus at T5 whilst still fully airside (the main bus stop is at the T5A main building but there is also a stop at T5B - make yourself known to the staff there). When you get to T3, you clear security there and then you'll have your pick of the T3 airside departures lounges, including BA's Galleries First.

I think it depends on what airline you're flying into LHR. If AA, then you arrive at T3.

Airside at T3, you have three OneWorld lounges to choose from. Some actually go lounge hopping and do all 3. AA has the most spacious showers (BA's are a bit claustrophobic), CX has Dan Dan noodles to order and the best windows/views (floor to ceiling windows) and if there is not a Hong Kong flight imminent, you will have the entire CX lounge to yourself. BA has the best alcohol/liquor selection.
