Am contemplating a trip from SFO to CDG. Am trying to decide between Swiss via ZRH or LH via FRA.
I have flown LH but never flown Swiss. Would appreciate any thoughts, recommendations, etc that would make you choose on over the other. Thanks!

    Y - if Swiss
Y - (and try to use UA SWU to get C if LH)

I would go with LX if flying Y. I really like ZRH, and I've heard LX treats its Y passengers better, but I haven't flown them.

If I could guarantee a C seat, I would take the C in LH (sleep is most important to me on these types of flights). Plus, if you take LH, you can get on the A388 if that fancies you!

But, if I were guaranteed flying Y I would take LX. I took them once in Y and really enjoyed it.

To echo some of the other comments, here are the pros for each if you are flying Y:

    SWISS
    - Y seats are going to be slightly more comfortable than LH
    - ZRH is going to be easier to transit than FRA

    LH
    - depending on your travel dates you might be able to try the A380 that LH is using on the SFO-FRA route
    - if you are 1P or 1K you'll get your 100% mileage bonus on LH
    - getting the SWU to clear on 744 and 346 is pretty tough. The A380 with the larger C cabin might give you a better shot

He's in Y, but I have to ask why you recommended LH? The new fully horizontal seats on LX are great (although a bit hard), and they fly the A340 out of SFO (unless something changed recently).

What I meant was that if he is guaranteed a C seat on LH but only a Y seat on LX I would prefer the C seat to the Y. If it were a choice between C on LH and C on LX I would definitely choose LX. Sorry for my lack of clarity.
