I like the Alerts feature but is it possible to implement this like the way facebook does? Right now I have to manually refresh the page to receive new alerts. It would be nice if we can receive this without doing a refresh manually. I am using Safari 5.0.3 on Mac

Doe a push feature like that use extra bandwidth? Since a lot of our members will log on while traveling and using cellular modems, they might have bandwidth restrictions.

Depends on the technology used. Maybe they could make this an option that you can turn it off. If you are traveling with bw restrictions, maybe a mobile app for MP will save you more bw :p

Sounds good. I like your idea, but I'm sensitive to bandwidth limits.

Not necessarily. A small JavaScript query could check every 60 seconds for an alert -- it would be minimal bandwidth.
