In the main forum page, the font size for the main topics is too big. It looks cheesy.
Actually, it may just be when they are bold that they look cheesy. As I read stuff, and they get unbolded, it's not as bad. I would experiment with bold/italic or something when the font is as big as it is.
It's big but for many of us who are getting "older" small font sizes don't work well.
I'm getting older, so big fonts are just fine.
I do like big font because of my age too, but we should look at the weight of the font might work for all ages.
Somewhere Randy said this is just beta and there was a design firm working on the new look. Assume they will address this issue.
I would like to suggest the avatar/name block is too large and should be tightened up a bit. Everything is too spaced out IMHO. (but then I like the way FaceBook crunches everything into a condensed, easy to read, single page.)
Here is a little irony...
...the font currently used for the names of the forums in the beta version of milepoint.com is Trebuchet MS — the same font used in the current FlyerTalk logo.
The weight and kerning of the typeface may vary, but compare for yourself...
I wish I can decrease the font size. Too much scrolling up and down for me.
Because of the somewhat unusual way some of the forums have been arranged, I'd much rather see a smaller font size at the top level so that I can see more on a single screen, without having to page down.
Actually, it is the default font of the software developer who has produced this product. For instance, you'll find it in use here:
Of course, we did design that logo!
